Louie Hughes
I have been a homeowner and full time resident at SSR for the past 12 years.
During that time I have served our community in various capacities.
Twice I have served on the Board in the past. The first term I served two years.
The last time I served was about 7 or 8 years ago and I cut that term short because
I was working full time and serving on the Board was a lot more of a "hands
on” position then. So I resigned.
An example of what I mean by “hands on” is that two other Board members and I
spent a Friday evening sopping up water with our own towels from an extensive
leak from a floor above down to the unit below and the flood wasn’t discovered until
it had run across the hall and into the neighboring unit. Neither of the three units
affected had owners in residence so the flood went undetected for a while. In the
aftermath I was the liaison with the after disaster crew who worked for weeks
assessing damage and other issues.
Also, during this term the parking gate was malfunctioning frequently and I was
getting calls at work from homeowners because they were stuck inside the resident
area of the lot. As you can tell, this was a lot for someone who was also working
full time. Thankfully, we have a management company who does most of that
heavy lifting now.
In addition to serving on the Board, I acted as the landscape and grounds liaison
between our Board and US Lawns for about 7 years. During that time I also
voluntarily watered plants around our campus.
During the renovations to our lobby and building I was appointed by the Board and
served on the interior decorating committee scouting paint colors for the hallways
and lobby, carpets for the hallways and furniture for our lobby.
Ever since the renovations I have voluntarily procured holiday wreaths for the entry
doors during the festive season and have installed them and cared for them
throughout and discarded them.
I have served on numerous other committees throughout my 12 years at Sunset
Ridge. Now that I’m no longer working I am ready to serve once again in the
volunteer position of Board member.
I have an extensive knowledge of the history and workings of our building and
association. If elected, I look forward to working with those Board members who
remain, and the new one coming on, for the good of our community and all of my
fellow residents at Sunset Ridge.
Mary Griggs
Mary Griggs is a new owner of a legacy unit - her grandmother, Rachel,
lived here when it was the Tiara Apartments and she was one of the first
buyers when the building went condo. Mary inherited the unit after the
passing of her mother, Fran, and has worked to be a good neighbor since moving
in last year.
Mary Griggs has served on several boards in the past, including two terms with her
condominium association in Oakland, California. Professionally, she is an
Organizational Development consultant with an administration, financial and human
resources consulting firm that specializes in non-profits. She conducts trainings in
board development to clients nationwide and hopes to bring her expertise to her
new home.
Additionally, she is the published author of four books and hopes to spend time at
her unit and at the pool in order to finish another one soon.
Reina Kegan
My name is Reina Kegan. I have been an owner of multiple of units at Sunset Ridge for over 15 years.
I also had the honor and privilege to serve on the board numerous times during a difficult time for our building. That experience allowed me to realize the challenges and the exceptional possibilities of Sunset Ridge.
The reason I am running for the board is simple. I would like to bring back some civility, less gossip, less tension and less negative innuendoes. We have enough of this tension in our country’s political life.
The most important lesson I learned in my previous experience as board member is : there will always be about 2% of homeowners that will be dissatisfied with everything, with the board and the property management company.
The vast majority of you will be thankful for board members to step up and solve issues and tackle every day life in this building. And work as best as possible with our property management.
If I have your support, I will engage to put all my efforts and experience to the good of the vast majority and to the good of this wonderful building. My professional experience is vast. But I prefer to summarize it with one word: common sense.
Danielle Parrish
Hi, neighbors! I would like to run for re-election to the Sunset Ridge Condominium Board of Directors. I've already had the pleasure of serving one term as treasurer, and it's been a rewarding experience. I’m also currently on the board of directors for Hanger Hall and have prior experience as a board member in non-profits in Ohio.
I truly believe in giving back to our community, and serving on the board is both an honor and a privilege. I'm dedicated to being a good neighbor and always try to help out wherever I can. .
If elected, I will prioritize open communication, transparency in decision-making, and taking actionable steps to enhance our community’s quality of life.
I am committed to listening to your concerns and representing our collective interests with integrity and dedication.
If you elect me again, I'll keep working hard to ensure our community remains a great place to live. Thank you for your support!
